Peace of mind, all night long

Nights can be the hardest part of the day when someone needs help, feels anxious alone or is at risk of a fall. Our overnight care means a trained carer is there through the night, ready to help and reassure. It allows the person we support to stay safe and comfortable at home, and lets family carers finally get the uninterrupted rest they need.

Two kinds of overnight support

Waking-night support

The carer stays awake throughout the night, on hand to help at any time, for example with toileting, repositioning, medication prompts or reassurance. Best where help is needed often during the night.

Sleeping-night support

The carer sleeps in the home but is close by and ready to get up and help if needed. Best where the person is mostly settled but wants someone there for peace of mind.

Talk to us about which overnight arrangement suits you best and we will explain the options and availability.

How we can help overnight

  • Help getting ready for bed and settling down
  • Support with toileting and continence during the night
  • Help turning or repositioning for comfort
  • Medication prompts where part of your plan
  • Reassurance for anyone who feels anxious or disorientated at night
  • A watchful presence to reduce the risk of falls
  • Help getting up and starting the morning
  • Who overnight care suits

Overnight care suits older people, those recovering from illness or surgery, people living with dementia who are unsettled at night, and anyone at risk of falls after dark. It is also a lifeline for family carers who are exhausted from broken nights, giving them the chance to rest while their loved one is safe.

    Carers you can trust

Every Twilight carer is DBS checked, referenced and trained in personal care and moving and handling before supporting you, with ongoing supervision once care begins. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission for personal care, so the same standards apply through the night as through the day.

    Clear, honest pricing

The cost of overnight care depends on whether you need waking-night or sleeping-night support and how many nights. We prepare a personalised quote after your assessment, explain what is included and help you understand the funding options available.

    Common questions

On a waking night the carer stays awake all night to help as needed. On a sleeping night the carer sleeps in the home but gets up to help if required.
